Jul. 6th, 2026 09:59 pmSummer is the only time of year I have problems with this apartment. The size is great for the area, way better than anything around us for 2 people, and even the price is still shockingly decent for the area and size, despite multiple increases over the last 8 years. In the winter it gets pretty toasty... radiator heat and being on the 4th floor will do that, but we can crack a winter window and even things out.
In the summer though we are horribly outdated. No central AC to the building so we do our best setting up a wind tunnel effect with a series of fans and a standing AC unit (which does do wonders to cut down on humidity) and blocking out the sun. It's working pretty well today. It's still 85 degrees inside the house but I consider that working pretty well lmao I'm not sweating just sitting here which is huge.
This did nothing to cut out the heat wave and we had to give up and run home to our parents house where they have both AC and a pool. It was the usual experience of going to their house, you know? chill, good times, unreasonably loud all the time, couldn't wait to come back. We had a good time playing cards together and swimming in the pool, I only got a little sunburned I guess.
I bought some new skincare stuff to try and clear up whatever issue I have going on. Probably a combo the makeup I wore in virginia and humidity I think, plus I don't know that I heal slowly but any time I get any kind of spot I'm so pale it stays pigmented for soooooo long after. That's what I'm trying to get rid of here, fingers crossed!
I started playing Apico, a bee breeding/saving game and I'm beyond obsessed. There are other parts to it too, restoring coral reefs, breeding flowers, diving, butterflies and stuff too, but I haven't gone too far into them yet. I started the reef restoration today though & it's also pretty fun. And necessary so I can go get some more BEES. Every moment I'm not playing Apico I'm thinking about playing Apico.
