rerouting on the temperature blanket
Jun. 6th, 2026 04:14 pmI shared recently that I've been working on a crochet temperature blanket, but I've been having some thoughts I gotta really digest. For the most of the year I've been using the daily temperature average for each day in question. In the winter and early spring this has more or less been the same anyway, since the color assignments are in chunks of 10 degrees.
Now that it's getting warmer though, that's shifting quite a bit. Even on a very hot day it cools down quite a lot overnight so the daily average will be in maybe the 60s but the daily high was much more. So far I'm seeing a trend that the average is 10ish degrees lower than the daily high but the daily high I think is more accurate to how the day felt!
I don't know what I'm gonna do, migrate or keep using the average. I don't want to go back and change over to daily high for the whole thing bc I don't want to go ripping out old hexagons to replace. I dunno! I'm gonna think it through. Maybe swapping out old hexagons wouldn't be so bad actually.... I guess I'll do some research and see how much swapping would have to take place.
I DUNNO i don't want to make choices
